Software you own.
NetaGig Systems builds local-first desktop tools: software that installs, runs on your machine, and keeps working without accounts, subscriptions, or a cloud dependency you didn't ask for.
The case for owning your tools.
Most software today is rented, not owned. It requires an account before it does anything, phones home while you work, and stops working when the company changes its mind. That model is great for recurring revenue. It is not great for users.
We think there's still room for the other kind of software: tools you install, learn, and keep. Tools that treat your data as yours by default, because it never left your machine in the first place. Tools that are still useful five years from now, on an airplane, or after the vendor's server goes dark.
Modern AI doesn't change this. It raises the stakes. The more capable software becomes, the more it matters where it runs and who sees what passes through it.
Every NetaGig product follows the same commitments.
Works without an account
Sign-in is never the price of admission.
Local where the work allows
It processes locally wherever it can, and says so plainly when it cannot.
A purchase, not a subscription
You buy it; it is yours.
Fails gracefully
No internet, no server, no problem. The tool still runs.
Command Dictate: the first proof.
Command Dictate started with a simple idea: private dictation for Windows that runs on your machine. Speech recognition happens locally. Your voice never leaves your computer. The free version has no trial, no sign-in, and no activation. Download it, talk, and the words appear in whatever app you're already writing in.
The free version is genuinely free. The Pro version exists for people who dictate enough that corrections, snippets, and voice controls save real time, for a one-time purchase.
Where this is going.
Command Dictate is the first product, not the whole idea. More tools built on the same principles are in development, starting with Freehold. NetaGig Systems is independent and founder-built: software made by someone who uses it, for people who feel the same way about their tools.
